I send my claims thru Office Ally. The payor required a taxonomy code which is correctly provided in box 24j, but rejected the claim because the same taxonomy code also appear in box 33b. How do I stop Medisoft from pulling that taxonomy code into box 33b?
Helps much appreciated.

Do you have the taxonomy setup in the Taxonomy field in the provider IDS grid or in some other field? As a default the CMS-1500 form prints only the NPI and the first Legacy ID. Also, it sounds like you are submitting print image claims. We recommend ANSI 5010 claims which will give you a lot more flexibility on sending electronic claims.

Thanks Gavin, I'll look into that. What I do know is that Office Ally accept print image claims (based on information on their website and convert the print images to new standards), I'm actually ignorant re. ANSI 5010. I only know that my office use ICD10 codes, and when we have to print claims, we still use CMS-1500 forms.

Your value added Medisoft reseller should be able to setup your Revenue Management to send ANSI 5010 claims. There are many benefits to ANSI 5010 claims. For starters, you won't have any more mis-mapped fields. Second there are specific fields for taxonomy that aren't on the CMS-1500 form. We have the option to setup Revenue Management on our shopping cart.
