Medicare Part A and B Transition to Jurisdiction 1
For HI, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianna Islands, and NV - Part B, you may begin Early Boarding on 5/10/2008 and the Implemenation Date for this is 8/4/08.
For CA, HI, and NV - Part A the Implemenation Date for this is 8/18/08.
For CA - Part B the Implemenation Date for this is 9/2/08.
ELECTRONIC CLAIM SUBMISSION
To implement the J1 A/B MAC, Palmetto GBA will migrate all electronic claim submitters to the EDI Gateway, GPNet. You are encouraged to begin transition to GPNet as soon as possible, to facilitate a smooth transition. The purpose of Early Boarding is to provide an extended period to update your connectivity and communications processes to communicate with GPNet.
During early boarding, transactions submitted to Palmetto GBA will be forwared to you current contractor's system for processing. Palmetto GBA will provide acknowledgements and error reports regarding those submissions in your GPNet electronic mailbox. Throughout the transition period, you will continue to use the Contractor ID of your current contractor. Please monitor http://www.PalmettoGBA.com/J1 for updates on when to change the old Contractor ID to the new Contractor ID. The contractor ID will change as follows:
Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and Northern Marianna Islands - Part B - Old Contractor ID - 00833 - New Contractor ID - 01202
Nevada - Part B - Old Contractor ID - 00834 - New Contractor ID - 01302
EDI ENROLLMENT FORMS
All providers using any EDI services must complete and return a new Electronic Data Interchage Enrollment Form. The form must be returned to Palmetto GBA EDI by 8/1/08, or EDI services will be interupted.
TRANSITION PERIOD PROCEDURES
When you are ready to transition to Palmetto GBA, visit http://www.PalmettoGBA.com/J1 and complete the Jurisdiction 1 Online EDI Application Form. An email acknowledgment containing your password and other relevant details regarding submission will be returned to you.
