Try turning off Bidirectional Support in your Printer Driver settings. This will disable the out of ink warning, but it messes with Medisoft.

It doesn't create issues in Medisoft, it solves them. That is why I suggested it. :D

Sorry, I meant to say Bidirectional Communication can mess with Medisoft. Not sure why, but some printer drivers cause this issue.

Try this:

Start Internet Explorer and go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings and make sure Automatically Detect Settings is unchecked.

What version of Medisoft and did you just upgrade? Your provider IDs grid(s) may need to be setup.

Hi, I received the same mapa.exe crash error and resolved it by turning off bi directional support on the printer. I wanted say thanks and provide some additional details for anyone else. This problem would only occur when we printed statements directly to printer. The problem did not crash when we printed to screen first, then printer. Also, it did not crash when printing the ledger.

Computer: windows 7 64bit os on dell pc, with ssd
Medisoft: version 12. Running in xp3 compatibility mode.
Printer: hp 2055dp network printer.
Driver: hp universal driver pcl5 and pcl6

What worked:
Connect the printer directly to the pc via USB.
On the printer driver, disable the Bi directional support. Google if you don't know how to do this,
Save, restart computer.
If this doesn't work, completely remove the printer and let windows automatically re install the printer. Then disable bu directional support.
I noticed that the low ink or low paper pop up stopped. This should be expected.
Medisoft works fine in windows 7 64 bit. No other issues.

What did not work:
Printing via network printer worked, but mapa.exe still crashed Even with bi directional support turned off. The low toner pop up still occurred. I tried both pcl5 and PCl6 drivers. I did not know how to disable the low toner pop up when printing over network. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Hope this helps someone

A

Hi, whenever I try to print a statement, I get the error Access violation at address 00CB9691 in module 'MAPA.EXE.' Read of address 0000034D. I am using medisoft v. 17.3.3.437. Overall everything seems to be fine. How can I correct this error from showing, because I need to close and open medisoft just to print another page, because I only print the pages that I need from the statement.
