Medicare institutional claim

Post by hrw911 » Fri Nov 09, 2018 3:41 pm

I have a Medicare electronic UB that was returned for the reason:

31300 The payer code must be equal to A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,L or Z

When I contacted EDI, they stated that it can be included in any of the following three locations:

loop 2400 SV2
loop 200B SVR
loop 2430 SVD

Medicare is the secondary payer on the claim, but this information needs to be associated with the primary payer.

How you I get Medisoft to populate this data correctly. I'm using Medisoft Advanced version 19 sp. 1.

So are they talking about the Claims Payer ID field? It doesn't make sense that it would just be an "A" or "Z".

It's not the Claims Payer ID. It's a payer code that identifies what kind of payer it is. For example "D" is for an auto carrier, "A" is for a EGHP (employer group health plan), etc.
