Batch eligibility options

Post by hrw911 » Thu Feb 09, 2017 11:32 am

Is there a way to create a 270 eligibilty file that can be uploaded to any clearinghouse (with the ability to import a 271), or can eligibility requests in Medisoft only be snet/received through Relay Health?

RelayHealth - yes. Trizetto is in the works. You can enroll at RelayHealth for eligibility only if you like and continue to use your existing clearinghouse for your claims and remittance.

What is the cost of using RelayHealth for eligibility only?

Currently $25/month/provider or $0.20/eligibility check with $30/month minimum.

Does "per provider" mean per each individual rendering provider, or does it mean per practice?

Normally it is for each rendering provider.

As far as accuracy goes, it shouldn't matter whether you go with Trizetto or RelayHealth. The information is coming back from each individual insurance company and the clearinghouse is just feeding the information back to you through Medisoft. eMDs is working on a Trizetto eligibility module that is supposed to support more streamlined reporting. The one they have for RelayHealth can spit back a dozen pages and the information for your specialty might come back on page 9 for example.

As far as switching to Trizetto later, that shouldn't be a problem. eMDs has indicated that there will be an eligibility only option through Trizetto. If they can't get this option, then you'll need to also switch your electronic claims and remits over to Trizetto as well.

Where can I find the list of Payer IDs for Eligibility for Relay Health?

We have switched to Trizetto as our clearinghouse, yet we still use Relay Health via MEdisoft for elig only, as you described previously. I've been working on using Trizetto EDI Payor IDs more often that I haven't used Relayhealth elig payer IDs in so long, thus I've forgotten where to locate them!

Once our company transfers to eMD, I'm assuming I'll need to enter all new eligibility payer IDs into Medisoft.

In Medisoft edit your Insurance Carrier and click the magnifier icon next to the Eligibility Payer ID field. Make sure the RelayHealth radio button is selected and then you can click the Description column heading to sort the list to make your payer easier to find.

That will get you the majority of them.

You can browse to https://connectcenter.relayhealth.com/, click the Payers menu item and then click the Eligibility box and then select your claim type and possibly your state and then click Search. The value you want to enter into Medisoft is in the Payer ID column.
