MediSoft V5.66 on Windows XP crashes and/or errors

I am a tiny office (2 computers) running Medisoft v5.66 without problems on Windows 98SE.
I bought new computers running Windows XP. Medisoft will load and display patient info, but several options give "access violation errors" or just exits Medisoft. (eg. claims management or printing reports)
I had initially wondered if it was compatible with XP, but I saw a post on this forum dated in 2007 that noted a user of v5.66 on XP. I tried compatibility modes without any effect.
Thanks for any suggestions or guidance.

There were several editions of Medisoft v5. The Multi-User edition had a version of Advantage Database that REQUIRED Windows 98 or Windows ME.

Thank you Gavin. Glad you chimed in, as I saw many of your informative posts.
Bingo! My v5.66 is Multi-User. So, apparently it does not play well with Xp.
