Can't Login to new account

Post by cborders » Wed Sep 15, 2010 12:46 pm

I just created a new Account, JFYANS, and added security (7 usernames). The JFYANS directory was created, medisoft tables were placed there and an entry for JFYANS shows up in MWDBList. But for some reason this new account does not show up as an available account to login to. I was able to use MedUtils to do a copy data tables to the new account. I am using global login, which is very buggy, and would like to remove it but not sure of the procedures to do that. In any case, I don't see the new account when trying to login with either global or not global.

Are you saying the practice JYANS does show up on the Practice drop down list when you go to the user mappings tab when creating a new global user?

One thing to keep in mind. Global Logins and Terminal Server do not mix.

It does show up in the Global login setup drop down.
The new account also shows up in the task scheduler when I go to add a backup.
When I launch Medisoft, my new account does NOT show up in the list of accounts.

Global login has been such a pain with terminal server, that is for sure. Is there a procedure to get rid of it?

1. Print your registration information.
2. Make a backup of Medidata\MWDBlist.adt
3. Move all files out of Medidata.
4. Startup Medisoft again, the files will be regenerated in Medidata.
5. Exit Medisoft.
6. Restore Medidata\MWDBlist.adt from step 2.
7. Startup Medisoft again and enter the registration exactly as it is printed in step 1.

You should be Global Login free now.

Thanks Gavin. I will follow these steps tonight. Hope this will fix my inability to login to the new account as well.

I am now Global Login free!

Also, I am now able to login to the new account.

Thanks, Gavin.

Do I need to recreate my SchedTasks? Or can I copy the table and index file from my backup?

Oh, sorry. You'll need to recreate your scheduled tasks. We don't use task scheduler very much so that is one of those things I forget about.
