Custom Report issue

Post by bkwrmz7 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:17 pm

I have v16, and have created a custom report. A new transaction was entered in the transaction screen, and resorted to be in order of date. However, when I go to print my custom report the new line item appears at the end of the report. How do I get the report to sort the charges correctly?

Are you creating your reports through Reports -> Medisoft Reports Professional or Reports -> Design Custom Reports and Bills?

To run/view/print the report I'm going Reports > Custom report list, then choosing my report
For designing I'm going Reports > Design custom reports & bills > then opening to edit report

Edit the report and go to File -> Report Properties -> Data Filters tab

select Sort By Code

Drop down the Data Values and the choices there is what you can sort by. The choices are limited by the master table you selected and report type when you first created the report template.

If you created the report in the Medisoft Reports Pro addon product, you have much more flexibility in how things are sorted.

I do not see a Sort by Code option in my Data Filters Tab, I have data filter questions, question type either range or match, a box whether to ask the questions or not, and default values boxes
I do not have Reports Pro
Anything else I can try?

Unless you get Medisoft Reports Pro, you are kind of stuck. You will only have the three or so sort options that were originally setup with your master table and the report designer that comes with Medisoft does not have the capability to add another sort option.

How do I get to the sort options? I saw a report that had a sort by: in the data fields, but how do I get that to populate in another report?

You can't add it. The "Sort By" option should already be in your list of questions. Almost every master table that I have seen has a "Sort By" option with at least a couple of options. Some releases of Medisoft didn't have the desired sort options setup on every report type. So, you might try loading the latest service pack to see if you have more sort options.
