Aging error => Invalid floating point operation

Post by ardu » Tue Sep 29, 2020 2:11 pm

Went to run the Patient Aging report from the reports menu of Medisoft v20.0.3.71. Have been using this version of Medisoft for years now with no problems. Last aging was run a couple weeks ago. Now this error is happening:

vCurrentPer3OnCalc
Invalid floating point operation

There have been no environment changes on clients or server. What would cause this error all of a sudden and how to fix?

This did only start after writing off a couple small balances. Narrowed down to 2 patients and when these were reversed, aging was able to calculate and no error. If write off the balance again, same error. However, same write off was done on other patient accounts and no error was generated. Any clue as to why this would cause a floating point operation error?

Is there something wrong with the aging report in Medisoft v20? Is there a way to edit the report? Should file maintenance be run?

Yes, there is a bug in the aging report. Tried to get McKesson to fix it years ago. We have programmed a fix for it that I can give you. If you bought your Medisoft v20 from me, then it is yours for FREE. Otherwise, I charge $45 for the report "AS IS".

I don't recall where I purchased v20; however, I have used your company to setup Trizetto/GatewayEDI clearing house. What would cause this error to show up now?

It is caused by an error in the report that is caused by a credit balance on the first chart # to be printed in the report alphabetically. As you can see, this only happens rarely and you can manipulate your data so that you don't get the error.
