Sorting Practice List

Post by medisoft_user » Fri Feb 05, 2010 10:36 am

Is there a way to adjust the sort order of the list of practices that are entered into Medisoft Advanced Professional and Medisoft Reports, in the open practice window?
Thanks.

Yes. The easiest way is to move the MWDBList file out of your MediData folder. The next time you start up Medisoft, it will generate a new blank practice list. Now, re-add the practices back in the order you want them.

You can also type the first letter of the practice name to jump to the next practice name that starts with that letter. Keep pressing that letter to cycle through all the practice names that start with that letter. Press enter to select the practice.

Thank you for the reply, to bad this is the only way to do this.

In one of me servers, I have over 125 practices in the list, so this would mean recreating the list every time there is a change. This would also imply that adding new offices without rebuilding the file would add the new ones to the bottom and this is not the case all the time either.

Also, hitting the first letter to jump through the list does not work that great with long lists and ones that are not pre-sorted. It tends to skip offices and you have to hit the first letter many more times than normal.

You can create a default index on the MWDBlist table that will fix this. It is kind of technical on how you go about doing this, but if you open a 1 month support agreement with us we will remote into your server and set this up.
