Unable to Backup. States all users must exit with ADYSS multiple time.

If you can help, I'll be forever grateful! We have spent days troubleshooting to no avail.
We were last able to back up with no issue 7/16/19. The only change was a windows update on the server (where the ADS is hosted). Since then, when we attempt to back up Medisoft, it will not allow the backup. It keeps staying "All users must exit the program. Users: ADYSS, ADYSS, ADYSS, etc... Sometimes it shows 2, sometimes 4.
No users are on the system. The program is only installed on 2 computers in our office. When going into ADS Configuration Utility it confirms that the program running on the server is the only "user". Where are all these extra users coming from?
We have made sure that ADS and Medisoft are both allowed through Windows Defender. We have stopped/started the ADS, stopped other programs that running, rebooted, checked ADS settings. Again, it was working fine, and suddenly stopped.
