RM Crashes and Medisoft Crashes When Printing

I have a new Windows 10 Pro Desktop (lots of memory, etc). No problem installing Medisoft and launching it.

But after sending claims through RM both RM and RM Reports freeze up when I try to close those applications. I can run RM and I have no problem running the reports in RM but each applications freezes when I select to exit (both under File/Exit and clicking the X in the upper right).

In addition, when I print claims, Medisoft crashes and I have to reopen it.

I intentionally did not install too many programs on this new computer...and all of them I had installed on my old computer so they cannot be conflicting with Medisoft.

Any thoughts?

Steve

Try changing the default printer to something else. Also make sure it is a printer which has a Windows 10 driver for it. Also, try downloading the driver from the printer manufacturer.

Wasn't anything with the printer (in Windows 10 you don't have to select a default printer; the last printer you printed to is the default printer for the next time you print).

BUT I think I did find out the cause of the problem...a conflict with QuickBooks Pro 2018! Probably some of the QB drivers is conflicting with Medisoft. Normally when I log into Windows I have QB also open...So I disabled that for startup...rebooted...had QB closed...and was able to print and RM would not crash. I tested by opening QB, then closing it...and was able to print again.

So, hopefully QB is indeed the cause of the conflict.

Found the solution or the reason for the problem...and I'm posting this in case anyone else ever has this issue. I decided to do a clean install of Windows....even though this was a brand new computer. I installed Medisoft first and it ran fine. Then, one at a time I would install a program and after installing one program I would test Medisoft (both printing and with RM) to make sure that the new program I installed did not cause the issue.

Finally after installing maybe 16-18 programs, I found the culprit...TeamViewer! I found it hard to believe that it could be Team Viewer so I uninstalled the program, rebooted, and reinstalled 3 times. but each time it caused Medisoft to crash after printing and caused RM to lock up after submitting claims. So then I checked something else. When you have TeamViewer running, in each app at the top (near the minimize button) is a TeamViewer QuickConnect button. I researched and found that some programs do have compatibility issues with the QuickConnect button so the QuickConnect button is disabled in those programs. You can also choose to completely disable the QuickConnect button for all programs OR you can add selected programs to the list where the QuickConnect button does not appear.

So I disabled for all programs, rebooted and have had no issues ever since!

Thanks,
Steve
