Profit vs Charge

Post by PPS3510 » Thu Jan 19, 2017 5:54 pm

Can Medisoft calculate the profit of a product (Botox, Juvaderm, Voluma)? Example: 20 units of botox cost us $150 but we bill patient $300 (all self-pay), is there a way to calculate the difference as a profit?

If you edit the Product code in Medisoft go to the Amounts tab and there you can enter the Cost of Service/Product.When you run the Practice Analysis report there are columns for Amount, Cost, and Net.

Those are based on the code types you assign to each payment code. You can split out and track cash/check/credit card payments and co-payments.

is there a report that will calculate patient AR for a specific time frame? Example Dr wants to know what his outstanding AR was as of 12/31/2015 and as of 12/31/2016. I tried patient aging with that as the on or before date but not getting an accurate report. I've looked through the reports and just can't find one that works for that. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

If you setup allowed amounts in Medisoft, then try Reports -> Medisoft Reports -> Aging Power Pack -> Patient Aging by Allowed Amount.

okay, so if that wasn't done there is no way to go in and have a report pull what our patient AR was as of 12/31/2015?

What's wrong with the Patient Aging Report?

its pulling up all current patients and nothing from that time frame. He is going through some tax/legal situation and they are requesting what his outstanding accounts receivable was as of 12/31/2015 and also as of 12/31/2016. But the patient aging reports I pull all have current patients and I've changed PA by statement date to transaction date and still its the same. I'm not sure what other reports I can pull to show what he had outstanding as of those two dates.
Confused lol

The problem with the Aging reports is the amounts drop off when the patient has paid in full. The Practice Analysis will give you a nice summarized total. If you want to do it by Entry Date, enter 12/31/2016 in the end Entry Date and leave the from Entry Date blank.
