Moving Medidata to New Server

Post by mbpros » Fri Dec 23, 2016 10:55 am

I'm going to have to move my Medidata and Advantage to a new server. I know that somehow I have to change the path for each practice in Advantage Data Architect (for example, from \\dc02\medidata\smithjohn to \\dc03\medidata\smithjohn).

But I do not recall where the list is for me to modify the practice paths. And anything else I should think of with moving to a new server?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve, if you delete MWDBList.*, Medisoft will prompt to add a practice and then you just re-add the practices back in.

Any other options? I would prefer not to have to add over 100 practices back to my Medisoft...It would be easier to change the path in Advantage.

You can edit MWDBlist directly with a utility called ARC32. You can find the install for this tool under C:\Medisoft\bin\rcm\arc??.zip.

I do have Advantage Data Architect on my computer. Would I just open the MWDBList (like I open a practice as a new connection)?

Yeah, just open with ARC32 and it should open up without any password requirement.
