last patient payment date

Post by EHCS » Thu Dec 01, 2016 12:36 pm

Why does medisoft count an insurance payment as the last patient payment date. It messes up the aging as well as the monthly billing fees. Is there a way to make it not count insurance payments as a patient payment??

I believe this value is simply stored as "Last Payment Date". Which aging report is messing up?

patient aging always shows the last patient payment date as the last insurance or patient payment. Also all of our providers apply billing fees if a patient has not made a payment in the last 30 days and the system counts insurance payments as patient payments so if insurance has paid on any claims in the previous 30 days then it won't apply billing fees. this really messes things up because i bill for a facility that has multiple providers so most all patients have more than one case with different provider and the system will apply billing fees to some case but not all depending on whether or not the insurance company has paid on a claim. The way I see it, Medisoft should NOT be counting insurance payments as "patient payments" because it throws billing fee's off as well as patient aging does not show the last "patient" payment it shows the last payment of any kind. The againg report even state "last patient payment"...but thats not what it is.
