Problems Posting ERA Files in RM

I have been using RM (and Claims Manager before that) so know the program well...But one issue I have is when a payer does not include a modifier on the 835 file. For example, I may bill 98940 with an AT modifier, but the payer only returns the 98940 on the 835. When that happens, RM cannot locate the claim and I have to manually go and find the patient and find the code so RM can match up.
Is there a way to set anything in the settings so RM will not look at the modifier field and be able to post if the CPT code alone matches up (with date of service and patient)?
