Revenue management error

Post by Robin » Thu Jul 28, 2016 7:35 pm

It recently updated and now one of my practices is getting a pop up error message when I try to send claims.
Environment Error
Error reading from the Revenue Management database!
Path is: C:\Medidata\RMData\practicename
CM4.add
Please see your computer administrator to be sure you can access this folder.
Then start Revenue management again.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks

Try right-clicking on Medisoft and select Run As Administrator to see if that helps.

I tried that, and it didn't work. This has only affected one of my practices out of 6. All the others have no problem.

I found the log for when the update was done under the file, RevenueManager.exe.UnhandledExceptionLog and this is partly what it says:

Error 5152: The table restructure failed. The MoveFile command failed with error number 32 while trying to rename a file named "C:\MediData\RMData\practicename\Options.adt" to the name "C:\MediData\RMData\practicename\Options.adt.BAK". ** Script error information: -- Location of error in the SQL statement is: 627 (line: 14 column: 4) AdsCommand query execution failed.

Try browsing out in Windows and manually deleting the file "C:\MediData\RMData\practicename\Options.adt.BAK", before running Medisoft and see if that helps.

That file seems to be missing. I do see it in all the other practices.

Ok, there should be a file called Options.ADT there. Try renaming it to Options.ADT.BAK.

No, there isn't a file called that. This is all I got.

You dont have your extensions files showing. The Options file says it is an ADTS Audio file. That is the ADT file. Since it is wrongfully set as audio it is showing ADTS. I would set it to show extensions and that is the Options.ADT file.

I will try that when I get home, but the other files are showing extensions so I'm not sure that is it. My other practices have just the "options" file.
Thanks

There is another option in Explorer Change Folder and Search Options -> View -> Hide Extension for Known File Types. If you un-check that and apply the setting to all folders, then the file extension should display.

Ok, I set it to show the extensions and I tried renaming the file and then also deleting it. Neither worked. Is there anyway to manually redo the last update for RM?

If you can't manually rename or delete the file then the program Revenue Management can't do so either. It looks like it is trying to restructure your database. But, if you say you ran this as administrator, then you "should" have rights. So there is something else wrong with your user rights, or maybe there is hardware failure causing file corruption. Either way, I think you will have to work with a Medisoft VAR on this one. We can help you if you purchase a Revenue Management Setup here.

So, there's really no way to force an update? What about uninstalling and reinstalling?
