revenue management error

Post by mleder » Tue May 31, 2016 10:09 am

I have only been utilizing Revenue Management for about 3 weeks now, and everything was working fine until this past Thursday. Now I get an error when I pull it up that says "Revenue Management has encountered a problem", and "there was an unexpected error in Revenue Management". Any simple fix to this?

Yeah, we have been seeing this lately. Certain anti-virus have been quarantining key Revenue Management files. You'll need to set your anti-virus to exclude C:\Medisoft\Bin and \Medidata and then re-install Medisoft and check for updates in Rev. Mgmt. again.

Did you check your quarantine for anything from Medisoft? Also is there any error codes?

I didn't see any quarantined items from medisoft. it just says there is an unexpected error in revenue management. this may be due to I/O errors?

Well, maybe you are getting a different version of this error message. There should be a link to click for more detail. Can you click that and then copy and paste the detailed error message as a reply to this topic?

I am about 99% sure your anti-virus is quarantining a key file. Notice the "File Not Found" message in the error text. Without re-configuring your anti-virus, when you are re-running the install, it is simply quarantining it again. If you buy anti-virus from us for $25/computer/year, we can get that installed and configured for you. Then you should be able to install Medisoft/Rev. Mgmt. again and it should work. Private message me for details.

You should only use 1 anti-virus regardless of which one you decided on. You need to use one that will allow you to exclude scanning of C:\Medisoft\Bin and \Medidata.

I did put medisoft/bin and \medidata in my "exclude items to scan" box on my antivirus though?

Are you sure you are not using more than 1 anti-virus? That could complicate things. Also, try disabling the anti-virus entirely during the Medisoft re-install. The installer might be unpacking files to a temporary folder which might be quarantined by your anti-virus. I would think you would get an error during the install process though.

ok, I think I figured out part of my problem. I realized today I had unfortunately installed the revenue mgmt. to my desktop. I accidentally deleted some of the RM files off of my desktop. Therefore, I readded everything from my Recycle Bin. Now, I get a different error. The new error reads: "Error upgrading database" and then "Error upgrading database info:7200 and then error 7072. Does this sound like any easy fix?
