Downloaded v19, can't get into medisoft, Data files not found

Post by tcrave88 » Thu Mar 31, 2016 2:02 pm

Had issues with Medisoft V19, not networked. Thought my best fix would be to just reload V19 off the disk. It downloaded fine, but when I go to click on the medisoft icon, I get error message Data files not found. I've read something about medidata, but have tried copying that into the spot and it does nothing. Help! Thanks in advance.

You have to point it to the data. When you opened Medisoft it asked for the data path for the Medidata. Inside there would be a separate folder for the practice. You just need to point it to the medidata then open the practice within Medisoft.

I sorta think I know what you mean, C: Medidata: I created a folder for practice (AWW), then I copied and saved the info from my flash drive that was backed up to that flash drive. so , i directed to that and it says this is not an existing root data directory. do you want to create a new one. i click yes, then it says data is not found.

So what folder did you copy to your flash drive?

I did a data backup of the information. This is the information that I'm pasting to the new folder.

LOL, going to sound stupid here. the flash drive is: When I close out of medisoft, I do a backup, saving it onto my flashdrive. listed as 3.31.16.

Ok so if you are just backing up the practice data. You will have to create a practice in MS and then do a restore. When it asks what file to restore point it to the flash drive and hit ok. It should list the backups to restore. It will restore your backup to the current practice.

I'm not able to access medisoft. I downloaded the program, then when i click on the MS icon I get: Data files not found. I click change data, browse, C: medidata: AWW(my practice name): from here I have to change the file type from medisoft database to all files, then i click on my file that came from the MS backup. Open, then ok. It then says it's not an existing root data directory.

The data path is not the practice data. It is looking for the MWDBList that should be in the medidata. Need to go up one file.

well, one step forward. I can now get "into" medisoft, it asks for my signon, then gives me an error message: tbltesttranindex: error 7041: file not found. verify the specified path and file name is correct."

Any ideas?

Sounds like a file is missing. May be a bad backup or restore.

See if you can launch C:\Medisoft\Bin\FileMaintLoad.exe and do a Rebuild on all Indexes.
