Unable to back bill Medicare?

Medicare B allows back billing for services within 12 months of the DOS. However, I find that Medisoft v19 prevents us from back billing a claim we inadvertently left out in Jun 2015 and givers us an error message indicating the June DOS is "invalid." Specifically, in this case, the DOS is 6/8/2015, 8 months ago and clearly within the 12 month window.

Is this a software problem that has a work around or something that cannot be fixed?

That's odd. Are you using Revenue Management? What is the message exactly?

Think I found the problem, hopefully...

Here are the error messages:

INVALID SL THROUGH DATE
INVALID ONSET DATE

Somehow the patient's DOB was changed so that the year of birth was later (greater) then the DOS submitted. However, we know we had entered the correct DOB as the claim was being put together, verified by the fact we ran an eligibility on it and it came back OK and showing patient eligibility for Part B. But, sometime after we entered the DOS under claim management, the patient's DOB was altered when we submitted the claim so that it probably was the reason for the errors.

We re-submitted the clakm just now ensuring the correct DOB was again entered in the field so we'll see what happens.
