Conversion: \"Updating Practice List Failed\"

Post by Dustin » Wed Jul 01, 2009 8:51 pm

I was curious if anyone has seen this before:

Code: Select all

Conversion began at: 7/1/2009 6:41:28 PM
Converting from version v11 SP3

Version 12 Conversion Log

Updating Practice List Failed

Version 14 Conversion Log

Version 14 SP1 Conversion Log

Conversion had errors.
Conversion finished at: 7/1/2009 6:42:57 PM
I've only ever gotten it when converting directly from v11 to v14. When I convert to v12 first, and then to v14 I do not seem to get this error.

Yes, we have seen this plenty. In most cases, everything will appear to be working fine until you try to add a practice, and then you will discover you cannot add a practice. The practice list is in the Medidata root folder. Due to the number of issues we experience converting Medidata root folders, we never do that anymore. Instead we create a brand new Medidata root folder and then copy the practice data over from the old Medidata root. You can hold F7 while starting Medisoft if you need to point it to a new server share (or move the share over to the new root). If you are handy with ARC32 and SQL, you can copy the contents of the old MWDBList.adt file to the new one that is generated. If you are on Medisoft v14 or older, you will have to reinstall Medisoft again to get the Crystal Reports installed into the new Medidata root folder.
