I'm beginning to think the 5+ year-long preparation to move from ICD-9 to 10 is looking more and more like the Y2K "end of the world" predictions that never came thru. Granted, people making the transition will encounter glitches here and there, as I have, but this is common to any upgrade or transition of this type. IMO the whole ICD-10 move has been a non-issue that generated the traditional cottage industry of doom and gloom sooth-sayers predicting the financial ruin of any practice that did not fully prepare itself using all those steps they proposed that must be followed to reduce the anticipated chaos during all these past years. How many dollars have been spent by an untold number of medical practices and facilities that may well have been more than were actually necessary?
