ADS not starting upon reboot

Post by drk » Thu Sep 10, 2015 2:16 pm

We are running Medisoft Network Pro v20.0.2.68 on a Windows 7 Pro machine.

Lately, we have noticed that the ADS server is not autostarting upon system reboot. The Services management screen under Control Panel is set to start the ADS automatically, upon system startup, and try 2 times before failing. When I start the ADS manually, it starts up just fine.

Anyone else seen this? How can I fix this? Thanks.

In Windows Services, you might try the Automatic (Delayed Start) Startup Type.

Tried that, still seems unreliable... The Medisoft task scheduler wants to run before the ADS server starts and that generates the 6620 "Database not found" error. How can I delay the start of task scheduler until ADS is running?

Try giving background services priority in Windows Advanced Settings which is the default for a server edition of Windows.

Hmmm... The background services did have priority. Also, all animations were turned off, etc.. I am now going down the services list and reducing the priority of all non-essential services. That seemed to work, at least on the last reboot. We'll see.
