Medisoft 12 sp2

Post by ALANLEEFLA » Thu Apr 30, 2009 6:20 am

I am having a \"Maximum Number of users exceeded\" when trying to open office hours, yet I am short by 1 user to reach the Max. Any suggestions.

Most often this is because you are interfacing Medisoft to another software such as an EMR or a Lab and the connection software is running on a different computer. The solution is to install the interface software on a machine that is also running Medisoft so that the interface piggybacks off the Medisoft license for that machine.

Another possibility is you are running Medisoft under Remote Desktop. Each Remote Desktop session counts as one user license.

Also maybe you are switching users in Windows with Medisoft still running. If you make sure you log out before switching, that will prevent Medisoft from using an extra user license.

If you run the Advantage Configuration Utility on the server you can see in real-time how many users are in the database at any given time.

If you can't get it to work with the number of users that you have licensed, then you may need to buy a user license expansion which is still available for Medisoft v12.

We have 5 computers running Medisoft and the database sits on a server with Windows Server 2003. Medisoft does not run on the server.

I am not seeing that error on my system. If you look in the Advantage Configuration Utility, are you seeing anything in the rejected column for the users row? Are you possibly running out of other resources such as connections?
