Medisoft problems after installing on new computer

Post by justme » Thu Apr 02, 2009 12:16 pm

We got a new computer in our office and i installed Medisoft Advanced V11 on it just like we had on our old system.
I'm running XP Professional V 2002 with SP3 on the new computer.

I could install Medisoft with no problem but when i try to run the program it opens the window and freezes right away, i don't even get the registering window.

I turned all firewalls off so that's not it... tried to uninstall, reinstall got the same result every time.

anyone has any ideas what now?

Thanks! Hanna

Try running Windows update and install any updates related to .Net 1.1 or .Net 2.0. If that doesn't get it, try uninstalling Windows XP SP3 (leaving you with just XP SP2 or earlier).

OK... so i updated windows like you suggested,SP3 wasn't installed, so i didn't have to worry about that.... unfortunately it still doing the same thing. The window opens like it would start but then it gets stuck and nothing happens...

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I have seen it go both ways, try installing Windows XP SP3. Uninstalling or installing SP3 fixes something in .NET I think. My next suggestion would be to reinstall Windows and then Medisoft.
