Medisoft v12 SP2 Vista Installation Error 7077

Post by oldstork » Sun Feb 08, 2009 7:50 pm

I purchased a new computer with Vista Business OS. Previous OS was XP Pro. I downloaded v12SP2 and then installed v12 from my original v12 disk. Then installed SP2. All files went to correct folders. When I open both Medisoft and Office Hours I get the same error code 7077: The Advantage Data Dictionary cannot be opened. As a result neither program will respond after opening. I have tried to run as administrator with the same error noted. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

(I should add that this is Advanced Patient Accounting with a single user license.)

We most often see this error when converting from a previous version of Medisoft. If this is the case, restore your backup and reconvert again. Report back the first error that you get.

Also, this knowledgebase article has sometimes fixed a variety of different errors in Medisoft v12: LINK REMOVED

The old Medisoft knowledgebase is completely gone now, so I removed the link.

I successfully uninstalled everything. Then I installed from disk Medisoft Advanced v12. After attempting to open the program, there is a window that opens stating: \"There was a problem during the registration process with Creation. Try running the application again. If the problem persists, contact your support representative.\"

This is a new install on a new computer. Until I am able to open the program I cannot restore my practice data files. Should my next move be to install SP1 or SP2? At least I no longer see the 7077 error. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Make sure you install SP2 first before attempting to run Medisoft on Windows Vista. Version 12 or version 12 sp1 simply does not work on Vista.

Also delete your Medidata folder and start with an empty one before running v12 sp2 for the first time.
