Upgrading to V20

I am aware that upgrading to Medisoft V20 does not require upgrading the Advantage database server.

However, can I have different versions (v19 and v20) network pro clients running on different machines that are hitting the same practice? I want to try out v20 on one machine before deploying it in production. Thanks.

You cannot have two versions accessing the same practice. This will cause issues with your data.

Do not try out v20 in a production environment. It will convert your data to v20 and there is no unconvert back to v19. The only option will be to restore from backup and your existing v19 clients could corrupt the database like Andrew said.

I suspected that, thanks for confirming. Our upgrade process just got a whole lot more complicated.

Install Medisoft Advanced v20 on a laptop that isn't using Medisoft and try it out there. Everything should function as it did before. Aside from a few bug fixes, the main new feature is a better mobile application that allows patient intake on iPad or Android.

If you do that and install ADS then make sure you only ever have one ADS on same network. Also if you use advanced make sure before you connect it to live network to uninstall it and install net pro.
