backing up data

Post by pkeller » Thu Jul 10, 2014 4:23 pm

My software was backing up just fine until about 2 wks ago. Every time I try to
back my medisoft data for the day, I get a warning box that says-
Warning, A backup in already in progress by another user.
I have only one user on this. I have not put in another user or done anything (that I know of)

I have read through every thing I can find in the help section and can't really find
any help in solving this. :?

Please help,
Phyllis Keller

Typically when the message "Backup is already in progress" appears it indicates that a failed Hot Backup has occurred. What you will need to do is find the Medidata folder on the server and delete the file HotBackup.txt. This is a file that is created by Medisoft during the Hot Backup and is then removed once the Hot Backup is finished. If this file is still there then that indicates that the Hot Backup did not complete previously.

On your data host computer in Windows it is typically in C:\MediData. Right-click on Start and select File Explorer.
