Rejected claims

Post by Robin » Thu May 24, 2012 11:58 am

I recently upgraded Medisoft to Version 17 SP2 (17.2.2.173) and the claims I sent yesterday were rejected in Availity with the following.

Error Initiator: CONV_HIPAA Message Type: R
Error Code: 0x39393b8
Error Message: Telephone Number is invalid in Submitter EDI Contact Information.
Invalid data: RENBILLINGGMAILCOM [1001]
Version: 5010A1 Loop: 1000A
Segment ID: PER Element #: 4

I haven't made any other changes, and never had this happen before. The telephone number is 10 digits. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I also want to mention that it was only BCBS claims that were rejected. Medicaid, Aetna, etc. all seemed to be accepted.
Thanks

Open up Revenue Management and go to Configure -> Receivers. Click Header Info on the receiver record you have setup for Availity. Make sure Contact Person is filled out. Type needs to be TE - Telephone Number. In Number, enter your 10-digit telephone number using only digits and no other characters. Blank out the second contact person and number and make sure the second type is set to (blank) - None.

Thank you so much! That seemed to take care of it.
