backup conflict

Post by RobynHood » Tue May 15, 2007 8:42 am

When we backup each night, we close MediSoft and office hours and medical connect on each and every workstation. One user logs back on and we attempt a backup on that workstation. We use a different workstation for each day of the week. We always get a message that the software can't backup because someone else is logged on. To work around, we must reboot the workstation. We use windows 2000 and windowsXP. The server is win2003-64 server.

Anybody have an idea how to convince MediSoft that only one is logged on?

First, make sure that Lab Connect is stopped. Windows XP allows user switching, which means that more than one user could have programs running on a machine. Make sure that all users are logged out of each machine. Finally, we offer a backup solution called HIPAA Backups that will work even if you are logged into Medisoft.
