Chief Notice: Capario Clearinghouse Comm Type E Usage End-of-Life
It has come to our attention that a number of you have been given warning from Change Healthcare about an EDI file transfer usage End-of-Life (“EOL”) change. A sample of the warning is included further down.
To be plain, although the warning is coming from Change Healthcare, this EOL notice is connected to the old Capario clearinghouse technology obtained by Change some years ago. It is separate from the Walker Tek Solutions current partnership with Change Healthcare. If you are still using this connectivity then you are not supported in any way by Walker Tek Solutions.
If you are using the Comm Type E Protocol, then you need to move by June 15th, 2022. The cause for the move is connected to the protection of everyone’s data.
We want you to comprehend the following:
Walker Tek has a method for MEDISOFT or LYTEC Revenue Management (RM) to support mechanized file movement for the new link requirements to Capario.
You still have the option to dispatch and receive files by hand or by SFTP. It is wise that you start to explore these options now and for a $250 support fee we can switch you over to the manual or automated SFTP option and instruct you how to upload and download files.
Let me know if you are impacted by this Friday (5/7/22). The details will help me comprehend the impact on you. It will also help me construct a plan to assist you.

In an effort to increase the security of your and your patients’ health-related information, Change Healthcare is working to end the use of Comm Type E Protocol for all of its customers. Your transition will occur on:
April 26, 2022
Comm Type E is a Change Healthcare type of direct file transfer. You may be able to identify it as its own mapped drive on your computer; for example, you may have a U: drive that gives Change Healthcare access to the files on that drive. This file transfer process will change to one of two options, unless otherwise decided prior to your transition date:
Comm Type H, a manual method for claims and eligibility files
Note: Eligibility portal file uploads are limited to CSV formatted batches, where applicable.
Comm Type X, a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP)
