Rev Mgr rejecting new 2019 CPT codes at front end edits

I've done all the possible updates under Revenue Mgr in my Medisoft v22 and RM still rejects the new 2019 Medicare CPT codes in effect as of Jan 1, 2019, prohibiting me from billing new claims so far this year. I assume RM does not yet have the new codes in their database, regardless of the updates, so is a new patch installing the new codes due any time soon, or is there something else going on. In the past, I've been able to add or modify all new codes CMS has come up with since I've been using RM. A real simple procedure; this time the database doesn't seem to cooperate. I'm only talking about a total of 5 brand new codes CMS has put out.

Any info?

I think I'm slowly coming to realize that I will now have to pay a fee for permission to add new CPT codes or modify those I've added as of Jan 1, 2019. It has always been a quick 5-min or less process to do so in the past but I discovered a "Find CPT" tab located all the way on the right of the CPT codes list screen that I had not noticed before. This tab leads to a "Register" screen that lists out CPT codes for 2018 and 2019 which must be registered with their own serial numbers in order for me to add any new CPT codes. Apparently, since I had been using MS v22 with existing CPT codes that had been in place for the past 10 years, this issue of a "Register" for permission to add a new code never came up.

As usual, eMDs is late getting the CPT updates out for Revenue Management. You can manually check the box to send each claim or turn off the CPT edit check within Revenue Management if you are finding it is throwing up too many false positives.

Haha! I had already thought of disabling the CPT edit check from the insurance company, knowing that the claim would then make it out the gate and at least go through. But I wasn't sure if Change Healthcare was up to date with the new CPT codes and accept the codes as valid. This sort of reminded me of the old "shade tree" or backyard auto mechanics who, in the old days, would remove a car's thermostat if the engine kept heating up.

As far as I know, Change Healthcare is fully up-to-date on their CPT edits.

Hi. It is now August and i am still having the same issue as the OP describe. Will RM ever come out with new codes with an claim editor update? It is still describing new 2019 CPT Codes as invalid CPT Codes.

I just updated medisoft from 22 to 23 today and I notice when I try to register the Medisoft 23, there are 2 new products require registration which I have no serial number for. These are CPT Codes 2018 and CPT Codes 2019. Are these additional module required for purchase in order for medisoft to recognize new codes?

Any one has information on this?

CPT Codes 2019 is a CPT lookup tool from within Medisoft and it gives you license to utilize CPT codes from the AMA. You can order this from your Medisoft reseller.

It does NOT update Revenue Management in any way nor fix any of the CPT code edits.
