Some insurance carriers require that certain procedures be preauthorized for medical necessity. Medisoft will track any preauthorization information given by the insurance carrier within the Patient's Case record -> Miscellaneous tab -> Prior Authorization Number field and provide it along with the claim. This will reduce payment delays and denials for missing information.

If you have a particular procedure that typically has a different place of service code (POS), then you can enter a default POS on the Procedure record in the Place of Service field.

If you enter your default diagnosis codes on the Patient's Case record on the Diagnosis tab, then any procedure that you enter in Transaction Entry will default with those diagnosis codes.
