Version 17 slow

Downloaded v17, advantage database 10.1, installed on windows xp machine.
conversion went well. It takes 4-5 minutes for program to load initially. Even tutorial data takes the same time.
I deleted medidata folder, uninstalled medisoft and reinstalled again. It is still very slow. once on it is o.k.
please help

McKesson keeps throwing more and more into the startup routine of Medisoft. There is not much you can do to reduce that.

One thing I have found that helps some:

Start up Internet Explorer
Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> LAN Settings.

Make sure Automatically Detect Settings is unchecked.
