We are still holding our breath. Here are the beta release notes. There is still a chance that a beta release item will not make the final release.

Medisoft 16 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Release Notes

Enhancement: Increased System Performance in Claims Management, Statement Management, and Ledger

This release includes enhanced performance in the following areas:
  • • Claims Management
o Increased the speed of claim creation and printing
    • Statement Management
o Increased the speed statement creation and printing
    • Ledger
o Increased the speed for displaying the window and grid entries
9951 – Correction: Final Draft Now Creates Notes as a Default Setting from Medisoft or Office Hours
This release improves the user experience when editing patient data in Final Draft. In previous releases, Final Draft would save data from Medisoft as a note, but would save data as a narrative from Office Hours. This release sets the default save method for both applications to save as a note.

13193 – Enhancement: New Column on the Daily Activity Summary Report
Added to the Daily Activity Summary report a Takeback column to track takeback adjustments entered in the Transaction Entry. This new column corrects any previous issues with displaying takeback adjustments in the Daily Activity Summary report.

14637 – Correction: Using the Tab Key in the Patient Quick Entry Window
This release corrects an issue when using the Tab key in the Patient Quick Entry window. In the previous release, using the Tab key to move between fields would clear values entered in the Social Security Number and Phone Number fields.

15190 – Correction: Assigned Patient Flag Color
In previous versions of Medisoft, the assigned patient flag color would not appear on the Apply Payment/Adjustments To Charges window, but would always display as aqua. This release corrects this issue, and the window now uses the assigned color.

15378 – Enhancement: Patient Day Sheet Rendering
This release enhances the data rendering performance of the Patient Day Sheet report. Some users with a large amount of practice data noticed that the last pages of the report would take much longer to appear than the rest of the report. This release corrects the
delay in rendering the last page of the report.

15630 – Correction: Data Displayed on the Print Appointment Grid Report
This release correct a data display issue with the Print Appointment Grid – Print In List View report, available in Office Hours Professional. The report was not displaying chart number, reason code, or resource code, only Time, Name, Phone, Length, and Note. The report now displays correct data.

16953 – Correction: Copying an Appointment to a New Time
This release corrects an issue with copying an appointment to a new time in Office Hours. In the previous release, if a cell phone number was included in the original appointment, it was not copied to the new appointment time.

16596 – Correction: Looking up Associated Transactions on a Superbill
This release corrects an issue with Superbills not always displaying all assigned transactions. In the previous release, if users tried to look up in the Transaction Entry an existing Superbill (using the Superbill field), all the associated transactions (from the case) were not displayed.

16650 – Correction: Claim and Statement Status Update Using the Default Printer Option
In the previous release, after assigning a default printer using the default printer option feature, and then printing a claim or patient statement with the printer, the claim/statement status did not update. This release corrects this problem; printing a statement or claim using a printer on the Default Printer List now updates the status.

16813 – Correction: Time Discrepancy when Assigning New Breaks
This release corrects a problem with displaying the time of a newly created break. In the previous release, when a new break was created in Office Hours, the time that appeared in the time field on the Break window did not match the time slot selected.

16953 – Correction: National Drug Codes Not Populating to the Transaction Entry Window
In the previous version of Medisoft, if a procedure code had a National Drug Code assigned, this value was not auto populating to the Transaction Entry window if the NDC fields were added to the Transaction Entry grid. This release corrects NDC code population to the Transaction Entry window.

17539 – Correction: UBFile.exe
This release corrects an issue with the UBFile.exe application. This application, used for UB-04 claims, was not including modifiers assigned to a procedure code on claims.

17966 – Correction: Allowed Amounts Calculation
This release corrects an issue with the allowed amounts calculation. In the previous version, the calculation was incorrect and the application was adding $1.00 to the allowed amount each time the procedure code was entered in the Transaction Entry.
This situation would only occur if the Update Allowed Amount box on the Program Options window, Payment Application tab was selected.

19265 – Enhancement: Full Graphical Theme Support for Windows 7
Added full graphical support for Windows 7 themes and the new Medisoft user interface. The Medisoft 16 GA release only supported the Classic Theme, and using the other themes resulted in conflicts between the various background colors and the text in various Medisoft windows.

19267 – Enhancement: New Insurance Types
This release enhances claim processing by including new insurance types that some payors require and adding alpha character support for payor IDs. Added the following new insurance types available from the Type list on the Insurance Carriers window:

Value Label
09 Self-pay
10 Central Cert
11 Other non-federal
13 POS
14 EOP
15 Indemnity
70 No Charge
99 Unknown
AM Automobile
DS Disability
LI Liability
LM Library Medical
MA Medicare Part A
OF Other Federal
TV Title V
ZZ Mutually Defined

19344 – Enhancement: Added the Option to Include NPI Numbers on BillFlash Statements
This release now supports the option to include NPI numbers when generating BillFlash statements.

19351 – Correction: Data Filtering for the Billing Payment Status Report
This release corrects a data filtering problem with the Billing Payment Status report. The previous filtering logic included all patients from a specified data range even if the patients did not have any transactions or a balance during that time.

19410 – Correction: Medisoft Reports Server Report Generation
This release corrects a report generation issue with Medisoft Reports Server. In the previous release, reports that had filter settings applied were not generated by the Reports Server (an error message would appear). Report recipients were then emailed an empty version of the report.

19427 – Enhancement: Increased Performance Quick Ledger
This release includes new internal data rendering logic to improve the speed of the Quick Ledger when loading patient data. In the previous release, some users with a large amount of practice data had noted slow performance when opening patients with large case histories.

19442 – Correction: UB-04 Data in Box 6 and Box 10
This release corrects an issue with the UBFile.exe application. This application, used for UB-04 claims, was not including the patient’s birthday/full year in Box 10. Also corrected the information displayed in Box 6, Date To/Date From to pull the last date of service.

19447 – Correction: Using Medisoft Reports Engine or Medisoft Reports Professional in a Networked Environment
This release corrects an issue when running a report from the Medisoft Reports engine or Medisoft Reports Professional in a networked environment. In this case (networked environment), users would receive a 6420 error message and could not use the feature. Users would also receive this error message when accessing the Medisoft Report Permissions window.

Using Medisoft Reports or Medisoft Reports Professional in a networked environment could produce a 6420 error. A 6420 error is a database discovery/connection error. After receiving the error, users could not use Medisoft Reports/Medisoft Reports Professional or modify report permission settings in the Medisoft Report Permissions window. Medisoft Report Server will now email the report directly from the server to anyone set up in the software.

NOTE: Medisoft 16 introduced enhanced system security: the initial log into Medisoft now serves as the Reports login and carries all the permissions and modifications from Medisoft user/security profiles and users will not need to log in to the Medisoft Reports
feature once logged into Medisoft.

19464 – Correction: Alpha Character Support for Claims Payor IDs
Added alpha character support for Primary and Secondary Claims Payor ID fields to accommodate payers with alpha numeric payor IDs.

19470 – Modification: Added Windows 7 Support for the Payor To CPID Utility
Corrected the Payor To CPID utility. The utility was not functioning on the Windows 7 platform.

19501 – Correction: Number of Diagnosis Codes Supported for an Unprocessed Transaction
Added support on the Unprocessed Transactions window for up to eight diagnosis codes. In the previous release, the application only supported four diagnosis fields for unprocessed transactions. Unprocessed EHR charges with up to eight (8) diagnosis codes are now imported into Medisoft.

19510 – Correction: Hotkey Assignment on the Apply Payments/Adjustment to Charges window
Changed the hotkey options for the Apply Payments/Adjustment to Charges window:
  • The ALT+O combination returns to the For field and saves.
The ALT+I combination opens the Options window.
ALT+P combination selects the Print Statement Now box.

19516 – Correction: Data Entry on the Mammography Cert Number Field
This release corrects a data entry issue involving the Mammography Cert Number field. When trying to add or edit a provider’s record and entering a number in the Mammography Cert Number field, the application was requiring a 15-digit number instead of a 6-digit number. Corrected this problem, and the field now requires a minimum of 6 characters and up to a maximum of 15 characters in length.

19566 – Correction: Replaced Buttons on the Dashboard Utility
Replaced buttons on the Print Preview window of the Dashboard Utility. The appearance of the buttons, accessed from Totals, View, Print Preview, did not match the look of the new user interface introduced with Medisoft 16.

19571 – Correction: Appointment Data Filtering from the Edit Patient Window
This release corrects an issue with appointment data filtering from the Edit Patient window. The application was not displaying the specific patient’s appointments, but all appointments in the practice.
