I have a patient who has a hyphenated last name. Medisoft strips out the hyphen (for example, Smith-Jones becomes SmithJones)...and that is causing the payer to reject the claims. They want the hyphen in the name or they will continue to reject. What can I do to ensure that Medisoft does not strip out the hyphen and lists the last name exactly as I enter in Medisoft?

Hi Steve, try changing the payer type to Medicare and see if that helps.
