Pulling incorrect rendering provider

Post by kdharma » Fri Oct 29, 2021 12:55 pm

System is setup as a group practice (EDI has group checked in it and practice info has group as well as all the providers). The claims are being submitted with the provider from the assigned provider in the case section rather than the provider in the transaction entry. One case can have multiple providers seeing the same patient on different days but as of now its only submitting the assigned provider from the case.

Do you need a separate claim for each performing/attending provider? There is a radio button you can select when creating claims in Claim Management to do a claim break on Attending Provider instead of Assigned provider from the case.

I guess the best way to explain it would be that one case is created for a hospital admission. If the patient is in there for 2 weeks and multiple providers from the same group see the patient on different days, the claim is pulling the provider from the case rather than the provider in the transaction screen. Hope that makes sense

There are multiple providers on a claim. Are you talking about the billing provider in box 33? If so, then I think you need to select the radio button to break claims by attending provider when you create claims in Claims Management.

You are selecting the correct attending provider when you enter each charge right? The attending provider defaults from the case so you'll need to override it and select the correct attending provider when necessary.
