Hi - I need to send claims for an interpreter to the state that does not have an individual npi. Is there a way to leave this blank when being sent electronically? They do not want our group npi in 24j.
Thanks!

I think they are going to have to apply for an NPI number in order to get reimbursed on a health insurance claim.

This is kind of a special case where I have to send a claim form to the state for interpreter services. I have been mailing a paper claim without it, but was hoping there was a way to send it electronically but it always pulls our group NPI to that spot. thanks anyway!

Who is the insurance carrier? Medicare? I believe they are going to require an NPI. Revenue Management won't generate a claim without an NPI so you have to put in something. I recommend you setup the individual NPI on the interpreter and then file the claim as a group if necessary.

No, it's not an insurance company. It is the Early Intervention Program thru the state of Illinois. And she does not have or need an NPI to send claims to them. I will just continue to do it by paper.
Thanks

We "might" be able to set this up with a custom iGuide. Not sure if Revenue Management is hard-coded to require an NPI or not. Been using Revenue Management for 11 years and this is the first time this has come up. Will they take a dummy NPI?
