Loop 2300, REF 02

I have to send a Payer Claim Control Number in Loop 2300, REF 02 (with 8 in the REF01 segment). Am I correct that the 837P Guide will pull this information from the Comment tab of the claim (for example, I have ICN1010015422520) on the Comment tab of my claim?

Normally this comes from the Case-> Medicaid and Tricare tab, Original Reference field.

As a general rule, Medisoft does not send this REF segment on the 2330B loop. It must be a special requirement of this particular payer, because I have never run across this issue before. What clearinghouse are you using to submit your electronic claims? You would have to work with a Medisoft reseller who can customize an Implementation Guide in Revenue Management for you. We can do this at an hourly rate. If you are interested, please private message me for more details.
