Error 6420 The discovery process for the Advantage Database Server failed

Hi,

We have Medisoft V19 Medical Billing Software on my Server and Medisoft has worked great for years. Last week we had storms here in Oklahoma, all the systems went down and since then we lost connectivity from all my desktops on LAN to Medisoft on the Server , receiving an Error 6420 The discovery process for the Advantage Database Server failed. I could ping the server IP from my LAN machines and add server to network but cannot bring up Medisoft on any of the machines. Please suggest.

Hi Jason, Advantage database server would need to be running on the server. 6420 Error indicates that it cannot connect to the advantage.

Jason, try rebooting the server. Once Advantage can't communicate on the network port (which can happen if the power blinked), it just stops trying.
