Entering preauth # for electronic claims

Post by ProCareSabrina » Thu Apr 07, 2016 1:58 pm

Hi!

I know you can put a preauthorization approval # in Medisoft so that it shows up on the CMS-1500 form. But where do you enter it in Medisoft so that it shows the same info for electronic claims?

I"m using Medisoft Ver 19 SP1

Box 23

Prior authorization number. This information comes from the Case window, Miscellaneous tab, Prior Authorization Number field.

One of the best ways to locate where information is being pulled from on the CMS-1500 form is to go to the Help in Medisoft and search "Clickable". You will be able to click on any box and have it tell you where the information comes from.

Does the clickable CMS form translate to electronic billing as well? Since electronic claims don't really have "Boxes" etc.

Are you using Revenue Management to generate your claim file? It seems it should pull from the same field as the paper claim report.

I am using Revenue Mgmt to generate my claims. I just wanted to make sure it was pulling from the same field no matter what type of claim.

Thank you!
