RE: Error 7078: The Advantage Database server cannot authenticate the user.

I changed the computer name on my server but then changed it back to its original name when the program would not work. Since then, I have received this message whenever I opened Medisoft (Version 19 with 3 users license):

Error 7078: The Advantage Database server cannot authenticate the user. Make sure the user name and password are correct ax ServerConnect

I am unable to open Medisoft on my server (server2008R) but I am able to open Medisoft and work on my workstation (Windows 10).
However, I am unable to back the program because it says that another user is backing up the program.

Any time you change the name of the server or the MediData share, you need to restart Advantage and rebuild your database list - MediData\MWDBlist.*. You can rebuild the database list by deleting MWDBList.* and then re-add the practices back into the list of practices in Medisoft. As always, run a backup first. If you have a month of Medisoft support with us, we can help you do this.
