Medisoft Network Professional v20 on OS

Post by araallison » Tue Sep 22, 2015 8:11 am

I was wondering if our server could be Windows 7 Professional along with the workstations being Wind 7 Professional as well. Our practice is 6 total computers. 3 of which are used part time. The "server" would not be used as a workstation for obvious reasons. 2 of them are used just for office hours only. Thoughts?

Although not recommend, you CAN do this. We recommend 8 GB of RAM on the data host computer. If you have performance problems, you'll need to get an actual server. Desktop computers just aren't built to be servers.

Agree with sentiments above. We are running the host side of Medisoft Network Pro v20 on a Windows 7 Pro machine.

That being said, the hardware is a server -- HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with upgraded CPU to e3-1265lv2 (4 cores), mirrored harddisks, and 16 GB RAM. It is running headless and has been pretty stable. Server maintenance is done via RDP or ILO4.
