Recreating a claim

Post by drk » Sat Oct 11, 2014 11:48 am

Sorry this is a noob question, we just started using Medisoft 19.

We submitted a claim with incorrect payer that got rejected by the clearinghouse. I have changed the patient/payer info in Medisoft and duplicated the case (along with the transaction lines) with the new payer; however, I cannot seem to recreate the claim to the new payer (It does not show up on search either). How do I force the case/transaction to be recreated for the new payer? I anticipate this happening often as people change insurances, so any help appreciated. Thanks.

The easy way to do this would be to change the insurance on the case and claim and change the claim status to "ready to send". Now that you have re-entered the transactions, there are a number of reasons why a claim won't create. If you added the insurance to the case AFTER you entered the transactions on the case, then you need to click Update All.

Thanks, that worked. I had forgotten about the Update All button. I also discovered that you can change the case status to "Ready to Send" by right clicking on the transaction.

Yes, there is usually about 3 ways to do everything in Medisoft. :D
