Switching from v12 to newer version.

Post by springhollow » Wed Apr 09, 2014 5:04 pm

Hello Gavin,
As you know, Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP so I am no longer able to use v12 which I have been running on XP. I would like to move to the next version up which runs on Windows 7 Pro. Can I keep life simple and cheaper with an older version? Thanks.

A few things:

Medisoft v12 sp2 CAN run on 32 BIT Windows 7 Pro or 32 BIT Windows Vista Business. Be careful, must computers are sold with 64-bit Windows.

The only old version I have is a move-up from Medisoft Advanced v12 to Net Pro v15 that I could sell. The problem is, this doesn't fit many people, but version 15 sp2 would at least run on 64-bit Windows.

What is the risk if I stay right where I am now with v12 sp2 on a virtual XP inside Windows 7 Pro 64 bit?

A XP Mode runs the same risk as a physical Windows XP computer. You should take precautions. You will have trouble getting Medisoft v12 to print the new CMS-1500 claim form if you print any paper claims. ICD-10 will be required by 10/1/2015.
