Exception at EADSDatabaseError in Module MAPA.EXE

Post by jpl_2nd » Wed Oct 23, 2013 8:10 pm

I've recently taken over IT services for a Phyisician's clinic. Medisoft stopped working about an hour ago, giving this message on every workstation and on the server. From what I've found online, this looks like a database corruption issue. Is this correct?

THey are receiving this error after logging in:

Application Error:
Exception EADSDatabaseError in the module MAPA.EXE at 001603AF.
tblClaimTran: Error 5016: Advantage could not find and index order with the specified name.

My predecessor was supposed to be making backups, but I'm not sure if he was. I've only found three .ADT files on the server, and they don't look like backups.

If I were going to try and fix this error, where would the best starting point be?

thanks!

Try running \Medisoft\Bin\FileMaintLoad.exe and rebuild all indexes. As always, backup your data first.

Windows has a built-in backup feature. We also offer a backup service. If all else fails, just copy the Medidata folder in Windows Explorer.

Thanks again for your quick response. I have performed a backup using the "Backup and Restore Utility" under the Medisoft folder in the start menu, but that was a little quick to be the whole database I think. Surely, if I just use a Windows backup that won't backup the data in the database, will it?

If I just copy the mwddf.add file to another location, will that work if I need to restore the db later?

Copy all the files and subfolders in the MediData folder.
