V16 Claim Issues

Post by liz50 » Wed Apr 10, 2013 8:18 am

I am trying to enter transactions and print paper claims. Under the charges tab guarantor is checked and I can't get it to change to Insurance 1. Also Insurance 1,2,3 are checked as having paid which is not correct. I am entering old transactions from Oct. 12 but need them to be billed.

Setup the insurance information on the Policy 1 tab on the case and then click Update All in Transaction Entry. You may have to select a different patient and then back to the same patient again to get the checkboxes to refresh.

I have done that and still it is not billing to ins. On the Transaction Entry screen at the top where it says Responsible "Guarantor " is checked. On the right side of that Ins. 1,2,3 are checked as having been billed to ins already. Also when I click on Print Claim in that screen it says All eligible transactions have been placed on a previous printed claim. I can not get it to override that and print it. The claims management page doesn't have that claim listed. I must have something set up incorrectly in the practice set up screen but I have been over it many times and can't figure out what is incorrect. I am unable to bill any of my claims.

No. I got this program two years ago and only use it a month out of the year for seasonal billing. It has never been able to print properly and I really need to use it to it's full capability this season. I set it up from scratch and must not have something entered correctly. I have spoken to other medical practice software users and have heard that Medisoft is not easy to use. I thought it would be suitable for my needs but am finding that I am spending so much time trying to figure it out that I am very frustrated with the product. Any suggestions?

On the Procedure Code being used what is the Code Type? Is there anything in "Don't Bill to Insurance" or "Only Bill to Insurance"? Is "Patient Only Responsible" checked?

I have to check the code used but under Only Bill Ins. I put Yes and under Don't Bill Ins is has No (as of now. When I was trying to correct the issue I added that. Originally that was blank). Thank you so much for your assistance. I am hoping to work on this this weekend!

Not sure what else you have done, but if you typed in "YES" in Only Bill To Insurance then Medisoft will only generate a claim when the insurance code is "YES". So, you want to delete anything you have entered in Only Bill to Insurance or Don't Bill to Insurance. If you press F1 in Medisoft on that screen you can bring up help and read all about it.
