V17 Revenue Management bloat

I mentioned this in passing on another post. But now I am concerned.

Over time with earlier versions than 17 the Medidata folder gradually grew larger as we added practices and transactions. The last size was slightly more than 300 MB.

Now that we have installed V17 with Revenue Management and all practices RM enabled the size of the Medidata folder has grown to more than 1.7 GB. Is this normal? Is all that new data essential or is there a way to clean out excess bloat? What extensions are temporary and expendable?

With every release there is more added to the database, so I wouldn't call what you are seeing abnormal.
