Static or Dynamic IP?

Post by axolotl » Thu May 12, 2011 5:11 pm

Medisoft v11 SP4 - Do you have a recommendation for which IP address type is best suited for v11?

TCPIP?
Net BUII?
IPV4?
IPV6?

Thank you.

If this is a single-user version of Medisoft, then none of this matters because no networking is involved.

On Network Pro you need TCP/IP - IPv4. The server should have a static IP but the clients can be dynamic IP. Any clients that are also running interfaces such as Communication Manager or Lab Connect should also have a static IP. You have to use IPv4 because Medisoft v11 will not run on Windows Vista and that is the first Windows operating system that supported IPv6.
