Patient count

Hi
A client wants to know the number of patients she sees every quarter.

I ran a day sheet for the entire practice and day sheets for each doctor. The problem is when I add up the totals for each doctor they don't match the day sheet for the entire practice. Do you know why? They should match, just as the receipts and charges match.

Is there a better way to get a total count of patients?

She's now questioning how reliable the reports are because of the above and want to give her a good answer.

Hi Ali, possibly the same patient was seen by more then one doctor?

That makes perfect sense. yes, often the docs will see the same patient in the same month. If they have any further questions, I will let you know.

What would you suggest is the most accurate way to get a patient count? Are there any production reports that would give me a truer account?

What do you mean Ali? The patient day sheets are accurate as far as I know. If they want the totals of the patients they each individually see to match the entire patient count that the practice saw, then each patient must be exclusive to one doctor or the other. Maybe they are looking for a different count, such as visits instead of patients.

Sorry for the confusion.
So they want to know how many patients each of them see in a given month. It has to do with how they are paid.
So, yes, it seems they want to know the number of visits as opposed to patients each month. Any ideas?

Ali, how about the Flash Report by Provider under Reports > Medisoft Reports > Focus On Financials?
